Immunohistochemical Study for the Distribution of EGF Receptor and for Mitotic Figures Using PCNA in Normal Human Lens Epithelium

Abstract
Lens epithelial cells go through the process of proliferation and differentiation until they form central uncleus from proliferation in equatorial region. Authors attempted to analyse correlation between EGF receptor and PCNA through anatomical location and distribution of these using immunohistochemical study for searching the effect of EGF to lens epithlium. As a result, immunoreactivity wass observed selectively in cell membrane in cases of EGF receptor, cell nucleus in PCNA and both were observed more intensely in equator than center The author could confirmed that EGF affects the lens epithelial proliferation mainly.
